Jan 11, 2016 PPSSPP is the best PSP emulator you can find, and lets you play titles from that platform on both Windows and Android, among many other operating systems. Here we give you a tutorial on how to set up the emulator and get a much better visual quality.
- edited October 2016I notice that my temps are getting up to 120 F when only msi afterburner is running to monitor with no overclock applied. Maybe this could be part of it?
- Could the fact that I have the latest runtime for oculus, and the latest gtx 1080 driver be the reason?
- I've only played dissidia 12 at length, I'll check the other one to see if it jumps for me. I've yet to come across any ipd issues myself, so idk about how to resolve that. Just to be sure, you're using ppsspp version 1.1.1-915 win32 1.3 right?
On the issue of the screen jumping around, I've seen two threads with this happening in other games, is the ppsppvr the only thing you see this in? Here are the two threads, in case it helps.

Someone fixed it by upping the volts his usb's were getting, not sure if that would help you either. XD
I'm using the latest nvidia drivers too, but I have different hardware/software so it could just be the combination of your stuff plus the new drivers? - edited October 2016
That is abnormal... why don't you try a previous stable nvidia driver?I notice that my temps are getting up to 120 F when only msi afterburner is running to monitor with no overclock applied. Maybe this could be part of it?
Someone just posted in a different thread that his temps and fan speed were going nuts, he uninstalled 'viveport' and it made a big difference. You have it installed by any chance? - I don't have viveport. I am hoping that Nvidia will come out with an update soon that will fix this. The strange thing is I feel the back of my computer where the heat blows out and it doesn't feel warm at all. It's very weird. Thanks for the reply.

Hi Nervous. i finally got my Rift yesterday. I tried the PPSSPP-VR with RR2 but I'm getting a black screen, even when the race starts. I pressed select twice in the race like you said and still no luck Would you mind please giving me your exact PPSSPP-VR settings?Ridge Racer 2 Works for me , just disable Gui in game with select.
The game runs som with slowndowns but playable and beautiful- Can UBSERD, OpticKing or anyone else help me? I downloaded version 1.1.1_915 just now and the emulator crashes almost *instantly*!!! I'm running windows 7 64bit and the emu just crashes upon double clicking it. Just says 'PPSSPP has stopped working'. I have a brand new CV1. Are there any additional files I need to grab? Please help
- You said on the 27th that you got your rift yesterday. I'm assuming you have 'unknown sources' checked in oculus home settings? It seems you had the emulator working before, maybe try d/ling a fresh copy into a new directory and just copy/pasting the save states or mem card?
- Hey Isamu. Unfortunately I haven't tried this since I was having so many issues before. I'm hoping this eventually gets patched. On top of that I am using windows 10 so I'm not sure if the issues I'm experiencing are the same as you. If I come across anything else regarding getting this to work I will absolutely let you know. I also am trying to get the dolphin emulator to work as well and haven't had much luck with that either. Both this and that have a lot of Judder issues from my experience anyway.
- Strange, I've had nothing but smooth experiences with both since d/l and played heavily for months. Maybe I've just gotten luckey? I've used many different emulators over many years, but I didn't really do much tweaking at all to get these to both work great. No judder or lag either that I've noticed in the games I normally played. Win 10 free upgrade from 8 here.

There are many others like it, but this is mine. - Hey opticking. I've had issues with both of them and other stuff. Asynchronous space warp fixed most of it and I haven't tried either one of these since. You definitely are one of the lucky ones because there are several other people like me that have had performance issues from day one.
- edited December 2016Hello Elboffer, I'm not sure as far as PPSSPP, but do you have Vorpx? If you do you can play Grandtheft auto five, and Grandtheft auto four I believe. There may be more of them that you can play through it as well but I'm not aware. As far as stereoscopic 3-D I know for a fact GTA five is a flat picture with no three-dimensional qualities. It's still pretty cool that you can look around in the world but you don't get the same 3-D effect as you do with most VR games.
- edited December 2016Thanks Opticking and Ubserd for the replies.
@OpticKing....

Yeah, I have 'unknown sources' checked. When I made that post on the 27th, I had attempted to run version 1.1.1_355. In that version, I'm getting what looks like the Rift Sensor calibration screen, where it shows you the sensor in the center and just a 3D black grid-like space background. I've tried several settings and that's all I get.
In version 1.1.1_915 however, it just crashes immediately and says 'PPSSPP Has stopped working'. I would be happy to go back to version 355 if i could get rid of the weird sensor calibration screen, but I'd rather try and get 915 to at least boot properly.
DolphinVR works beautifully BTW. Opticking what OS are you running?0
it's elbofforHello Elboffer,
(lower case e and o as the 7th character)
I have yes, and have used GTAVR (it's OKish)do you have Vorpx? If you do you can play Grandtheft auto five, and Grandtheft auto four I believe.
I was more interested in playing vice city and liberty city stories TBH. The turf fights in LC Stories and property development make the game almost impossible to finish and I've never managed it (always gave up) I have the PS2 game and played that on PCSX2 but the psp version is the original format for them and the textures and such are far supperior. I would use the normally ppsspp but if i can play it as an eye in the sky with my rift it would be far superior. I'll give it a go now actually and report back. chances are, it wont workThis is my forum signature.
There are many others like it, but this is mine.- edited December 2016well i just tried it, it don't work
not for GTA anyways, hey ho
One thing i did notice is the game runs at a ridiculously high speed, just loaded tony hawks 2, that was working well or at least it would have been had the speed not been ridiculous
if someone could enlighten me on the setting to get it to calm the fuck down, i'd be very gratefulThis is my forum signature.

There are many others like it, but this is mine. - Good news guys, I got version 915(latest version) working! It seems like launching the emu with D3D was the culprit. I had to delete the entire system folder from the Dolphin directory in My Documents, then the emu started with OpenGL as the default. What's up with the emu not wanting to run in D3D? Can anyone here run PPSSPP-VR using the D3D back end?
- how can i download the dropbox isnt working and i am a noob at this stuff. (vr not emulation)
- @ evan.mackey.7798
Not sure if @2EyeGuy removed it on purpose or if it timed out. And I no longer have the exe, but I think I can upload my program files directory and you can just copy and paste that into your program files dir and it should work. Maybe me tagging him here will alert him to re-host it if it's accidental. Hope he responds and is willing to help you out, if not I'll upload it and throw a link at you tomorrow, I'm heading to bed atm, it's 4am for me now lol. - Wow, I am looking forward to playing FF7 in VR, Oculus ship my order right now!
- Ok, just zipped it up and uploaded it to a new mediafire account, couldn't remember login to my old one lol. Here's the link. Should be able to unzip it and drop the 'ppsspp vr' folder into your program files dir, and hopefully it works for you. Make sure your oculus settings has 'unknown sources' ticked or it wont launch the emulator.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/of8fbc856d32dvd/PPSSPP_VR.7z - edited July 2017could someone help me. i am too poor to buy any actual headset so i am trying to use riftcat or trinusvr to do this. i know the quality will be worse i just want to try it out. i have gotten riftcat to work with dolphinvr and it works great but when i boot up ppssppvr with riftcat it just acts like normal ppsspp in the sense that nothing happens on my phone but it shows my game on the screen. please help i am a noob at this stuff. - This is so incredibly sad. Carl gave us such a fantastic glimpse into the potential of PPSSPP-VR. Playing Ridge Racer 2 in VR without the abhorrent graphical glitches would have been a dream come true for me. But in its current state, it is simply unplayable Being stuck with the current version of PPSSPPVR no progress in sight is really sad. Carl if you're reading this, please consider handing the source code of PPSSPP-VR over to someone more enthusiastic about improving and progressing the project. You're under no obligation to do anything, but please, for the VR community's sake, give us at least a small updateon what your plans are for PPSSPP-VR
